About Search Consulting Service
Sam Handelman, owner of Search Consulting Service, began developing a practice in the productive commercial uses of the Internet in 1995 while a Senior Manager at KPMG Consulting. In 1999, he joined an Internet start-up, Calico Commerce, which soon offered an IPO. As a marketing manager he learned many valuable promotional lessons.
He joined Webtrends, an Internet analytics company that measured people’s use of websites. While at Webtrends he pioneered partnerships for new product concepts.
More recently Sam was able to put his knowledge to use as the Marketing Director for the Bend Oregon Visitor and Convention Bureau. He quickly changed the advertising budget so a much larger proportion was spent on web-based advertising. The methodology he deployed saw a massive increase in tourist interest in just a few months.
He left his position when an offer from Oregon State University allowed him to teach full-time. He worked for two groups – the tourism program and also the business administration undergraduate program – and taught classes in consumer behavior, marketing, and e-commerce.
After his two year commitment was finished, Sam started SCS to help small businesses promote themselves successfully and cost-effectively.
Sam earned his MBA while attending the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
We strongly believe in ethical marketing. As such, we only accept clients whose products we personally believe in. This way, SCS continues to be known for its quality work for quality businesses. Thank you for your consideration.
